Case Management
Case management
means different things to different people and for many situations
the ability to create and store documents will
deliver most of what a fee earner needs by way of support. This is
particularly true if this is combined with the use of the links
between LawPro and Microsoft Outlook that allow reminders to be set
up in the Outlook diary.
LawPro allows you to go a whole lot further however through the use
of date alerts and To Do lists. Date alerts will scan the database
for cases which have review dates or critical dates that are
imminent or overdue. These can be filtered by fee earner or case
type and are colour coded to highlight the degree of importance of
the event.
To Do lists allow the fee earner to choose actions from a list of
options – letter, email, ‘phone call, meeting etc. and specify
optional settings including follow up actions and timescales. This
then builds up a complete history and future action list for the
case on screen as well as automating the creation of follow up
events such as sending an email or letter or prompting an action
from the fee earner.
Pre-defined To Do lists can be created for all the case types
handled by the firm and these can then be attached to new cases to
provide a suggested action list that can then be adjusted and
updated as the case progresses.
